GOODS MOVEMENT REFERENCES (GMR)
Travelling through a GVMS port or terminal?
We can create your Goods Movement Reference (GMR) for just £30.00 per movement.
To enable us to produce your GMR, please provide:
- Vehicle registration number for accompanied movements
- Trailer number or container number for unaccompanied movements
- Route / crossing, including port of departure and destination
- Ferry or crossing operator
- Booking/reference number, where applicable
- Expected date and time of crossing
- Direction of movement, e.g. GB → EU or EU → GB
- All relevant customs declaration references for the goods being carried
- Transit MRN / TAD reference, where goods are moving under transit
- ATA / eATA / TIR carnet references, where applicable
- Safety & Security declaration MRN, where required
HMRC requires the GMR to contain the appropriate references for all goods contained within the vehicle, trailer or container. The exact references required depend on the type and direction of the movement. [gov.uk]
